Lever, Inc. is seeking a General Counsel based in France to lead the global legal and compliance function for a fast-growing software business preparing for its next stage of growth.

Reporting to the COO, you will own legal, regulatory, governance, and risk across EMEA and the Americas, and guide a distributed team through strategic counsel and hands-on execution. This remote role within EMEA time zones requires deep expertise in commercial contracting, IP/open-source licensing, data privacy,

Qualifications

• Senior in-house legal experience in a global tech or software business.
• Leading distributed legal teams across multiple regions/time zones.
• Negotiating complex technology agreements (enterprise software, cloud, subscriptions).
• Experience with data protection, export controls, competition law, and IP/trademarks.

Responsabilités

• Lead global Legal and Compliance across EMEA and the Americas and set operating model.
• Build and manage distributed leadership and performance.
• Oversee legal readiness for future public-market environment; governance and controls.
• Advise executives and Board on major matters and participate in Board/committee meetings.
• Own commercial contracting framework and IP/open-source licensing strategy.
• Manage global compliance program for data privacy, export controls, anti-bribery, and AI regulation.
• Oversee litigation, regulatory engagements, and external counsel.
• Provide legal guidance on M&A, partnerships, and financing.
