Description de poste

The Head of Academic programs defines and implements Renaissance Fusion's strategy for disseminating results within the scientific community and developing collaborations with academic laboratories, while ensuring the protection of the company's intellectual property. He/she builds and leads a team that is expected to grow over time, including technical writers, an IP engineer, a public grant project manager, a scientific spokesperson, and a conference organizer.

Responsibilities

• Scientific Dissemination & Integrity: Develop strategies to maximize the impact of scientific contributions while safeguarding intellectual assets; oversee publication processes to meet high standards of excellence and integrity.
• Intellectual Property Protection & Management: Work with the IP Engineer to define policies that protect innovations, support knowledge sharing, and ensure legal compliance.
• Academic & National Lab Collaborations: Represent Renaissance Fusion in scientific networks; develop collaborations with universities and research institutions; manage partnerships for PhD hosting and thesis monitoring; identify grant opportunities and supervise proposals.
• Event Organization & Representation: Oversee scientific conferences, workshops, and outreach initiatives; support researchers in presenting at major events; develop a scientific communication strategy.
• Team Management: Promote company culture and values; encourage collaboration; motivate and support team members; identify talent and facilitate professional development.

Requirements

Applicants are encouraged even if they do not meet all criteria. The role requires:

• PhD in physics, engineering, material science, or related field.
• 15+ years in scientific research, publications, and IP management.
• Experience in team leadership or project management.
• Fluency in French and English.
• Strong understanding of scientific publishing and IP regulations.
• Ability to produce high-quality scientific documents and proposals.
• Willingness to travel for conferences and meetings.
