Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in customs and excise compliance required.

Description du poste

The Global Customs and Excise Compliance Lead will support the Global Customs & Excise Manager in providing guidance and support on customs and excise matters across the organization's global operations. This role involves leading compliance initiatives, advising on international projects, and collaborating with local affiliates to navigate complex customs and excise frameworks. A significant focus will be on coordinating the detailed design and assisting with the implementation of a global ERP system to integrate customs and excise compliance processes across the organization.

Your key missions

ERP System Design and Implementation:

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and technology teams to incorporate customs and excise compliance requirements into the global ERP system design.
  • Support process owners during detailed design for ERP processes involving customs and excise inputs/outputs.
  • Lead detailed design for ERP processes specific to excise and customs, ensuring alignment with global standards.
  • Collaborate with the technology team and local affiliates to implement these processes in the ERP system.
  • Assist in mapping and documenting compliance workflows, ensuring alignment with global standards.
  • Provide subject matter expertise during system testing, rollout, and implementation phases.
  • Train and support local affiliates on ERP system compliance functionalities.

Data Management and Monitoring:

  • Review and maintain global master data related to customs and excise to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Monitor changes in legislation to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance.

Regulatory Compliance Oversight:

  • Support the Global Customs & Excise Manager in monitoring changes in regulations and assessing their impact on operations.

Participation in Global Projects:

  • Provide input on classification, valuation, and duty/tax implications of goods.
  • Assess impact of trade agreements and duty relief schemes to support cost savings.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on the design, assessment, and implementation of projects involving indirect tax matters.
  • Promote the integration of customs and excise considerations into global initiatives, including supply chain and business expansion projects.

Training and Capacity Building:

  • Support the rollout of internal training programs on customs and excise compliance.
  • Prepare regular updates and development opportunities for the business.

Risk Management and Audits:

  • Assist local teams in resolving issues from inspections or audits.
  • Support internal auditors with annual audit programs.

Reporting and Analytics:

  • Develop and maintain a global dashboard for compliance metrics.
  • Provide updates on compliance status, risks, and opportunities.
  • Report and escalate irregularities to the relevant managers and internal audit functions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in International Trade, Law, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related fields (advantageous).
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in customs and excise compliance.
  • Working knowledge of trade compliance analysis.
  • Deep knowledge of customs procedures, trade regulations, and excise duties.
  • Experience in ERP system implementation or process integration is essential.
  • Experience with SAP is highly desirable.
