Umicore AG & Co. KG in Grenoble is seeking a Global Commercial Director to lead the development and execution of the commercial strategy for the Tool Materials business line, spanning four production sites with a global customer base in hard metals and diamond tools.

You will report to the Business Line Manager, coach the Sales Managers, manage budgets and forecasts, and coordinate with production, R&D, finance, supply and planning to drive end-to-end performance.

Qualifications

• Master degree in Engineering Materials, Industrial or Chemical Sciences, plus business degree or 10+ years in similar role.
• Excellent English and French; German and Dutch knowledge a plus.
• Proven leadership, decision-making and continuous improvement mindset.
• Project management skills and ability to multitask.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management.

Responsabilités

• Define the commercial strategy, budgets and forecasts.
• Actively contribute to the long-term development of the business and lead strategic projects.
• Manage sales, sales administration and reporting.
• Coach the Sales Managers.
• Ensure an efficient document flow for quotes, orders, logistics, credit management and commercial reporting to BU management and BL members.
• Define targets for commercial KPIs and monitor progress.
• Manage key customer relationships for both markets and engage in contract negotiations and visits.
• Drive Business Development and Market Knowledge via partnerships, competitive analysis, conferences and new product development.
• Interact with production, R&D, finance, supply and planning/logistics teams.
