Job summary

Mistral is seeking an Anti-Corruption & Trade Compliance Legal Counsel to lead the building of a corporate compliance framework and to own core policies and tools. You will collaborate with Legal, Finance, Procurement, Sales, Security, and Product/Engineering to translate legal requirements into auditable processes.

You will drive day-to-day compliance operations and advise cross-functionally, shaping program governance and risk controls in a fast-evolving AI environment.

Qualifications

• Master in Business Law, Corporate Law, Compliance, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a company, law firm, consulting firm or regulatory authority.
• Substantive exposure to anti-corruption and Sapin II, economic sanctions, or export controls.
• Experience in technology or AI sector is a plus and understanding of data/semiconductors/dual-use goods and AI.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Sapin II Action Plan deployment including policies, controls, training and third-party procedures.
• Lead day-to-day operation and due diligence from integrity screening through enhanced due diligence and periodic review.
• Support implementation and periodic review of code of conduct, related policies, whistleblowing framework and training program.
• Administer gifts, hospitality and conflicts-of-interest processes, including reviews, records, and guidance to business teams.
• Define and monitor risk-based anti-corruption accounting controls with Finance and Internal Control.
• Monitor anti-corruption programme metrics, reporting, and regulatory developments; support investigations.
• Manage screening for counterparties as part of third-party due diligence and transaction-review processes.
• Assist in export control classification of AI models, software, technology, and compute hardware.
