Role description

Arcadis is seeking a Geologist or Environmental Scientist or Environmental Engineer to join our team in Concord, CA. While this position requires both field and office work, the candidate should expect to spend 50% to 75% of their time in the field.

Role accountabilities
  • In this role, your responsibilities will involve actively participating in field activities as part of a team. These activities include supporting drilling operations, which includes the installation of monitoring wells and providing descriptions of soil or rock.
  • You will be responsible for conducting soil, groundwater, and air sampling in compliance with both State and Federal standards.
  • Data management tasks such as compiling, manipulating, and evaluating data.
  • You will provide support in writing and preparing technical reports, work plans, letters, and memoranda. You will contribute to the production of figures, maps, and boring logs to aid in the visual representation of project information.
  • Performing onsite/field activities, including sampling and oversight of contractors/subcontractors which may include drilling oversight, soil sampling and/or groundwater well installation, groundwater sampling, excavation oversight, operation and maintenance of remediation systems, and vapor intrusion/soil gas surveys.
  • Field data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
  • Assisting with writing and preparing technical reports, work plans, letters, memoranda, and permit application preparation.
  • Data compilation, evaluation, and QA/QC.
  • Coordination with a variety of project managers, engineers/scientists, field crews, and support staff as part of project teams.
Qualifications & Experience

Required Qualification:

Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or related discipline
1-2 years of relevant experience
40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification

We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $68,640 - $98,779 / per year. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
