Context:

The Gas Delivery and Physical Business Platform within GEMS is responsible for scheduling, dispatching, and balancing ENGIE and affiliates' gas portfolios 24/7. With Europe's spot gas market expanding, new opportunities and challenges have emerged, prompting a shift towards a fully service-oriented model aligned with the ROAD gas project.

Gas Delivery and Operation collaborates with Asset Management and Delivery Oversights to manage gas delivery and optimize assets across Europe.

Role:

Participate in short-term activities with Asset Management and Delivery Oversights, managing gas delivery and asset optimization on the European network.

Main tasks include:

  1. Conduct physical operations such as balancing, nominations, and monitoring matching reports from gas trading activities.
  2. Develop expertise in gas market rules and operations.
  3. Update internal processes and systems to support new business and market rule changes.
  4. Engage in short-term trading activities and asset optimization (shift trading).
  5. Work in a 3*8 shift pattern (morning, evening, night).

Hard skills:

  • Knowledge of European gas business, contracts, balancing, and markets.
  • Understanding of trading activities.

Soft skills:

  • Team player with strong social skills, quick judgment, and stress management capabilities.
  • Ability to learn quickly, including:
    • Gas grid contracts and regulatory regimes.
    • Physical operating rules in gas markets.
    • Operational incident analysis and decision-making.
  • Resilience to stress.
  • Ability to work independently during nights, weekends, and holidays.

Education and experience:

Engineering school or Master's in sciences, economics, or similar. Experience in an international energy trading company (front, middle, back-office, IT):

  • Junior (3-5 years) with strong skills.
  • Confirmed (>5 years).

Languages:

  • French and English (spoken and written).

Travel:

No travel required.
