As part of this role, you will:

1. Architect, design, implement, test and deliver highly scalable products

2. Master our development process, culture and code base, then improve it

3. Operate optimally in the hybrid engineering model where engineers are encouraged to be able to craft and complete the vital work to ensure quality in their own code as well as other engineers

4. Present your own designs to internal/external groups and review designs of others

5. Develop test strategies, design automation frameworks, write unit/functional tests to drive up code coverage and automation metrics

6. Participate in the team’s on-call rotation to address sophisticated problems in real-time and keep services operational and highly available

Required Skills:

1. 2+ years of professional software development experience

2. Deep knowledge of object oriented programming and experience with at least one object oriented programming language (Java, Javascript, C++, C#, Ruby, Python)

3. Proficiency in web technologies and frameworks, such as JavaScript, CSS, HTML5, XML, JSON, Ajax, NodeJS, Express, Hapi

4. Validated understanding of Database technologies such as SQL, PL/SQL and relational database schema design

5. Experience in automated testing including unit and functional testing using Java, JUnit, JSUnit, Selenium

6. Excellent interpersonal skills

7. Degree or equivalent relevant experience required. Experience will be evaluated based on the core competencies for the role (e.g. extracurricular leadership roles, military experience, volunteer roles, work experience, etc.)

Preferred Skills:

1. Experience building highly scalable web applications.

2. Experience with Agile software development and test-driven development.

3. Track record of being a top performer in current and past roles
