Acquera Yachting is seeking an Accountant to oversee accounting activities for France and Monaco. You will manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, issue and verify client invoices, and perform monthly VAT closures and bank reconciliations.

The role requires 3+ years in accounting, strong knowledge of French/Monegasque standards, and fluency in French and English. Experience with ERP systems and Excel is essential. Collaboration with HQ and external advisors is expected.

We are looking for an Accountant to manage and support the accounting activities of operations in France and Monaco, working closely with Group Headquarter and external accounting and tax advisors.

The Role

As the accountant will be responsible for managing accounting activities related to both accounts receivable and accounts payable to support the administrative and financial functions of France and Monaco company of the Acquera Yachting Group. Specifically, the role involves managing accounts receivable, including issuing, checking and recording client invoices, as well as general accounting tasks, with particular focus on recording supplier invoices, monthly VAT closures and bank reconciliations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including supplier and customer invoices, billing discrepancies and credit collection activities;


• Manage day-to-day payment activities, including supplier payments, salaries, social security contributions and other company payments, ensuring accuracy, proper documentation and timely execution;


• Maintain accurate and up-to-date general accounting records, in accordance with applicable French and Monegasque accounting principles and requirements;


• Record and reconcile bank transactions, credit card payments and perform regular bank reconciliations;


• Support payroll accounting, including salaries, social security contributions and related accounting entries;


• Prepare and support French and Monegasque VAT returns and related tax documentation;


• Assist with monthly and year-end closing activities, accounting controls and financial reporting;


• Maintain and organize accounting documentation and archives in compliance with applicable French and Monegasque accounting and tax requirements;


• Liaise with accountants, external accounting and tax advisors and Group Finance, providing the necessary information for tax, statutory and compliance requirements;


• Maintain and update accounting and ERP systems, ensuring accurate and timely data entry and supporting process improvements;


• Support the Finance function with reporting, analysis and other accounting-related activities as required.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably within a French and Monegasque accounting environment;


• Previous experience in the maritime/shipping or services sector is considered a plus;


• Good knowledge of French and Monegasque accounting principles and practices;


• Solid experience in general accounting, accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations and monthly closing activities;


• Comfortable working with multiple bank accounts and managing payment activities;


• Good knowledge of French and Monegasque tax and statutory requirements;


• Familiarity with the French tax portal and experience managing tax-related administrative activities;


• Fluent in French and English; Italian is considered a plus;


• Good command of Microsoft Excel;


• Strong adaptability and willingness to work with different accounting and ERP systems, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software and digital tools;


• Strong attention to detail, accuracy and reliability, with the ability prioritize tasks and meet deadlines;


• Organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills, with effective collaboration across internal teams and external advisors.
