Harmattan AI is seeking an FPGA Radar Engineer in Paris to design and implement real-time radar signal-processing pipelines for autonomous defense systems. You will work with hardware and embedded software engineers through architecture, RTL, integration and field validation.

Ideal candidates have a strong DSP background and hands-on FPGA experience with radar or sonar signal processing, including FMCW and pulsed waveforms, test benches, and hardware-in-the-loop validation.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Signal Processing or related field.
• At least 3 years of hands-on FPGA development experience, including radar or sonar signal processing (VHDL/Verilog/SystemVerilog).
• Strong working knowledge of radar signal processing fundamentals (pulse compression, matched filtering, Range-Doppler processing, CFAR, clutter rejection).
• Familiarity with FMCW and pulsed radar architectures, waveform generation and digital back-end processing on FPGA.
• Solid DSP foundation: FFT, FIR/IIR filtering, fixed-point arithmetic, precision management.
• Experience with test benches development and hardware-in-the-loop validation.
• Rigorous and collaborative, with ability to work across hardware, software, and systems teams.

Responsabilités

• Develop FPGA-based radar signal-processing pipelines (pulse compression, Range/Doppler, CFAR, target tracking handoff).
• Contribute to RTL implementation of radar waveform generation and reception for FMCW and pulsed radars.
• Perform system-level radar simulations (Range-Doppler maps, SNR, clutter).
• Write and maintain testbenches and validation frameworks for radar processing chains.
• Collaborate with RF and hardware engineers to ensure integration between FPGA, radar front end, ADC/DAC interfaces, timing and synchronization.
• Document interfaces between radar processing core, system software, and hardware.
