Job summary

Fundamental is seeking a Founding Product Designer to establish product design and lead the design system across our AI-powered platform and agentic products. You will own UX/UI from discovery through implementation, collaborating closely with Product and Engineering to deliver intuitive, scalable experiences.

We value deep AI/ML UX expertise, ability to mentor, and a track record of shaping design strategy in complex enterprise software. This role is foundational to our product-first future.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience designing technical B2B software.
• Experience in human-in-the-loop agentic experiences (CLI, API, GUI).
• Strong understanding of AI/ML workflows and usability.
• Ability to balance usability with technical feasibility and performance.
• Experience conducting user interviews and usability testing.
• Ability to influence product decisions and lead design strategy.

Responsibilities

• Establish and own product design at Fundamental, directing the design system and UX/UI across platform and agentic products.
• Lead the UX/UI for our platform and agentic products, partnering with Product and Engineering.
• Build and evolve an AI-native design system including UI kits, patterns, and guidelines.
• Shape product experiences across predictive AI/ML workflows from discovery to implementation.
