Davis is hiring a Founding Data Engineer to build the data behind our foundation model, trained from scratch to generate buildings as geometric graphs. You will own the data end to end, from raw floorplans and synthetic generation to a canonical representation, curation, large-scale pretraining and ablations that inform the model.

You will architect the data stack, set the data strategy, and write pipelines, run experiments, train models, and perform ablations hands-on.

Qualifications

• You have built the dataset end-to-end for a large pretraining run.
• 5+ years of senior, hands-on data engineering experience.
• Data as a first-class problem: curation, filtering, deduplication, quality scoring.
• Strong Python engineering: typed code, async, distributed pipelines, TDD.

Responsabilités

• Turn raw and synthetic data into canonical building graphs.
• Design and implement data pipelines and experiments.
• Build evaluation suite and ablations to improve data quality.
• Architect data stack and drive data strategy for pretraining.
