Job Description
- Ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the restaurant.
- Assist the restaurant leadership team in achieving high guest satisfaction.
- Guide and lead the restaurant servers.
- Perform managerial duties on a regular basis.
- Maximize sales potential and encourage upselling to increase revenue.
- Ensure cash floats are secured at all times.
- Work within budgeted costs.
- Minimize abuse of operating equipment.
- Complete and monitor requisitions for supplies, ensuring delivery and proper accounting.
- Minimize overtime use.
- Maintain sufficient operating equipment at all times.
- Record all voids and report payment discrepancies to the Restaurant Manager.
- Follow company procedures when handling cash, credit cards, and cheques.
- Address guest complaints and report all issues to the Manager.
- Liaise with colleagues to meet guest requirements and needs.
- Ensure proper handover at shift change.
- Coordinate regularly with the Head Chef and Reception.
- Gather customer feedback consistently.
- Complete daily reports of the restaurant’s activities.
- Create and maintain respectful rapport with regular guests.
- Handle guest comments, questions, complaints, requests, and inquiries promptly and courteously, ensuring thorough follow-through.
- Familiarize with guests’ needs to provide efficient and friendly service.
- Maintain high standards of quality and consistency in food, beverages, guest service, and cleanliness.
- Support other hotel revenue centers such as Rooms and Events.
- Be results-driven and fully accountable.
- Attend daily business review meetings, weekly sales meetings, and other management meetings as required.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure asset maintenance and protection.
- Enhance the hotel’s reputation within the community by engaging with local influencers.
- Perform any other duties within the scope and purpose of the job as requested.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years’ management experience in Restaurants and Bars.
- One to two years in a public contact role, preferably in an upscale or lifestyle hotel.
- Proficiency in computer and point of sale systems.
- Gracious, friendly, and engaging demeanor.
- Ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment, and pay high attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to foster positive and productive relationships with colleagues and departments.
- Ability to work independently and promote teamwork.
