IXO is engaging specialists to evaluate fire and life-safety reasoning in building plans. Your contribution is technical work: make the reasoning inspectable, identify substantive errors and provide evidence that supports a reliable assessment.

Remote assignments are scheduled by agreement, with no guaranteed weekly volume. Availability planning can include 40 hours per week depending on the track. IXO confirms the applicable timing before work.

Qualifications

• US-based fire/life-safety plan review experience with at least 3 years.
• Fire marshal appointment, NICET Level III or higher, or PE route for fire protection.
• Ability to read device layouts and hydraulic calculations; apply NFPA, IFC and IBC requirements.

IXO is engaging specialists to evaluate fire and life-safety reasoning in building plans. Your contribution is technical work: make the reasoning inspectable, identify substantive errors and provide evidence that supports a reliable assessment.

Work you will do

• Examine plan packages for fire-protection and life-safety issues within your professional authority and experience.
• Apply the relevant codes and review workflow, identify unsupported assumptions and explain which changes a plan needs.
• Produce clear findings linked to the drawing evidence and the applicable requirement, so another reviewer can follow the decision.

Required background and routes

• US-based current or recent responsibility for fire/life-safety plan review, fire protection engineering, or sprinkler/alarm design review; at least three years in that function.
• A fire-marshal appointment, NICET Level III or higher, or a fire-protection PE route. Read device layouts and hydraulic calculations, mark up plans, and apply NFPA, IFC and IBC requirements.
• Operational firefighting alone, installation-only sprinkler work, service-only alarm work or general OSHA/safety practice does not establish the review background required here.

Preferred background

• Eight or more years of relevant practice, reviewer training, correction-language or SOP authorship, acceptance testing, and experience across code editions.

Deliverables

Submit the completed technical artifact or assessment with its supporting evidence, explicit assumptions, reproducible checks where applicable, and concise reasons for each material judgment. Address review findings within the agreed scope.

Location and schedule

Regional eligibility: United States. US professional practice and the stated jurisdictional credential apply. Remote assignments are scheduled by agreement, with no guaranteed weekly volume. Pay and working terms

$50 $65/hr USD. The agreed hourly rate, scope, schedule and acceptance criteria are confirmed before work starts. Applying does not guarantee an assignment.
