Job Description

Reporting to the Hotel Accountant and ultimately the Director of Finance, we are looking for a highly motivated professional to join our Finance Team as a Finance Officer.

In this role, you will:
  • Maintain and complete general administration, including filing.
  • Prepare various daily, weekly, and monthly reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Review Day Packs for completeness and accuracy.
  • Manage System User Access Rights, ensuring timely terminations.
  • Assist with financial and non-financial audits, including FOCUS Guidelines, stock takes, and internal/external audits.
  • Handle cashiering and banking duties, including cash handling, float counting, and reconciliation between Opera, Shiji, cash, and General Ledger.
  • Reconcile petty cash and code into the General Ledger.
  • Maintain Hotel Contract listings and follow up on insurance certificates, working with Department Heads for renewals.
  • Support Month-End processes, including journal preparation, bank, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Provide training for Departments and team members.
  • Perform reviews and ad hoc analysis.
  • Archive Hotel Financial & Non-Financial records.
  • Assist with BAS preparation for review and approval.
  • Set up new Suppliers/Vendors in Sun System.
  • Perform other Finance duties as assigned.
  • Support Hub Finance in Sydney from Brisbane, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Payroll.
  • Respond to departmental changes as directed.
  • Carry out any additional duties as assigned by the Hotel Accountant or Finance Director.
  • Handle cashiering, Folios, Shiji POS, and Purchase processes as needed.
Qualifications
  • Experience in an Accounts role or similar.
  • A recognized University Degree in Accountancy is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to develop relationships and collaborate with Department Heads via Teams, phone, email, and in person.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
