Field Service Engineer / Automation Technician

Ready for your calling? This specialist equipment manufacturer is searching for a well-rounded Service Engineer / Service Technician to join their team. (Equipment training provided).

• 50K - €62K Basic Salary (dependent on experience)
• 15-20K Overtime (paid at 1.5x / 2x)

About The Role

As a Service Engineer / Service Technician you will work from a home office and be responsible for :

• Operating in an 80% mechanical and 20% electrical role.
• Working within a service engineering team supporting around 25-30 pharmaceutical manufacturers across France.
• Attending a low number of customer calls as each case can be extremely complicated and time consuming.
• On rare occasions operating as part of an installation team to complete new equipment installations, commissioning and user training.
• Supporting customers outside of France should an emergency occur requiring your support.
• Working to preventative maintenance and installation work which is often booked 2-3 months in advance, whilst also reacting to more pressing breakdowns and repairs.
• Working with the engineering planner to coordinate activities and movements.
• Conducting routine service and calibration work, alongside more reactive maintenance, including fault finding, problem resolution and repair.
• Completing service visit reports.

About You

The successful candidate will possess at least 2+ years of service engineering / technician experience, gained working on complex equipment, which could include but not limited to, Industrial Automation, Robotics, Scientific Equipment, Food Processing, Logistics Automation, Semiconductor Manufacturing, Metalworking Equipment, Robotic Welding, Robotic Spraying or other high value complex equipment.

Candidates must speak advance level English and French and be multiskilled with a mechanical focus. You must be comfortable with travel and nights away when needed.

A degree level education is beneficial, but not essential, as is experience working in a cleanroom or sterile environment.

It is, however, essential you have a logical and methodical approach to finding faults and be comfortable with travel and spending time away from home.

A valid local driving license is essential, as is the right to work in France. My client doesn’t offer sponsorship.
