Job summary

TOMRA FOOD is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support Brittany and neighbouring regions from a home-based setup with occasional travel across France. You will install, commission and service advanced optical sorting equipment for food producers, train operators, and provide hands-on technical support.

Based in Brittany, you will join TOMRA's national Field Service team, travel to customer sites, and enjoy a company car, private use, and a performance-based annual bonus.

Qualifications

• BAC+2 or equivalent in Electrotechnics, Industrial Maintenance, Automation, Electronics.
• Fluent French and English in a technical environment.
• Experience in Field Service, customer-site maintenance, or travelling technical support.
• Experience with preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair on industrial equipment.
• Good understanding of IT systems, networking fundamentals, and PC configuration.
• A valid driving licence is required for this position.

Job Description

Join TOMRA FOOD and work on advanced optical sorting and grading technology that helps food producers maximise product quality, reduce food waste and contribute to a more sustainable food industry.

Your Mission

• Install and commission sorting equipment at customer sites.
• Perform maintenance and troubleshooting activities.

A typical week might include preventive maintenance, troubleshooting or service activities with a customer near Rennes, operator training following a machine installation, and occasional travel to support customers elsewhere in France.

Home-based role

• When not visiting customers, you'll work from your home office to prepare for upcoming customer visits, complete service reports, update technical documentation and provide remote support when needed.

Brittany-focused territory

• Your primary responsibility will be supporting customers throughout Brittany and neighbouring regions. As part of TOMRA's national Field Service team, you may occasionally support colleagues and customers elsewhere in France when business needs require.

Qualifications

• Technical qualification (BAC+2 or equivalent) in Electrotechnics, Industrial Maintenance, Automation, Electronics, or a related discipline, with hands‑on experience in electrical fault‑finding and electromechanical troubleshooting.
• Fluent French and the ability to communicate effectively in English within a technical and professional environment.
• Previous experience in Field Service, customer‑site maintenance, commissioning, installation, or travelling technical support roles is highly preferred.
• Proven experience performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities on industrial equipment in customer‑facing environments.
• Good understanding of IT systems, networking fundamentals, and PC configuration.
• Strong customer‑service mindset and the ability to build trusted relationships with customers and colleagues.
• A valid driving licence is required for this position.
