Job Description

The main responsibility of the Maintenance Engineer will be to support and maintain the ThermoFisher Scientifics electron microscope range.
The engineer is responsible for on-site installation, maintenance and repair of complex associated equipment and systems.

The Service Engineer works with the Service Manager in their region.

Territory: remote France North

Mission statement:

1. Work independently as part of a service team for electron microscopy products, dedicated to the Life Sciences and Material Sciences markets of the MSD division.
2. Install complex equipment and follow test procedures to ensure proper operation.
3. Carry out annual preventive maintenance on equipment, as well as corrective maintenance on request.
4. Provide customer service in the allocated area and support in France and occasionally in Europe. These interventions may occasionally take place in controlled environments (clean room, P3 laboratory, controlled nuclear zone...).
5. Accurately document service activities in the field by drafting service and technical reports.
6. Communicate effectively internally (hotline, field application engineers, product managers, service managers, sales engineers, etc.).
7. Actively participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance service quality and efficiency.

Profile:

1. Experienced technician/engineer in electronics, physical measurements.
2. Knowledge and/or experience of electron microscopy is a prerequisite.
3. Ability to diagnose and solve problems on complex electronic and mechanical instruments in a demanding environment.
4. Ability to work independently / in a remote team - (Home Office).
5. Excellent interpersonal skills (oral and written).
6. Availability for daily travel in the area + occasionally in France and Europe/Morocco.
7. French speaking, Good level of English required.
