Summary

The Remote Piloted Aircraft (RPA) Simulator Operator / Technician will operate a Predator Mission Aircrew Trainer System (PMATS) to generate MQ9 training simulations supporting initial training and recurring flight qualifications. The technician will also support maintenance, troubleshooting, component replacement, upkeep, and repair of the deployed PMATS hardware to meet system availability requirements at an assigned OCONUS location. The position requires a SECRET Clearance or the ability to acquire and maintain one. It is considered part-time/on-call (PTOC), with support expected twice per year, each time for about three months OCONUS at 45 hours/week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure RPA simulators operate according to quality and fidelity standards to support customer training
  • Provide customer service and support customer needs promptly
  • Operate simulator consoles during training events
  • Perform preflight and post-flight operations
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and troubleshoot issues on simulators
  • Install hardware and software updates following documented procedures
  • Record maintenance activities using management systems
  • Manage logistics including parts receipt, repair, and testing
  • Interpret manuals and solve complex problems
  • Train other technicians as needed
  • Maintain simulator housekeeping and adhere to quality management systems
  • Complete administrative and training tasks
  • Support ongoing professional growth
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Experience with Surveillance & Reconnaissance (ISR), Close Air Support (CAS), and Aerial Interdiction (AI)
  • Support experience with IQT and MQT syllabus events
  • Ability to role-play assets in scenarios
  • Ability to work independently with telephone support
  • 2-year technical degree or equivalent training
  • At least 3 years of simulator experience, with 1 year in a similar role
  • Knowledge of Windows, Linux, UNIX environments
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex systems and interpret schematics
  • Proficiency in diagnostic data analysis
  • Experience with preventive maintenance and simulator checks
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
  • Willingness to travel overseas for field service support
  • Must be able to work independently and interface with customers and home office
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance
  • Fluency in English

Preferred Skills

  • CompTIA Security+ and/or Network+ certification
  • Electronic maintenance experience or training

Security Responsibilities

  • Comply with all security policies and handle information responsibly
  • Must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance
