Description

The Field Application Engineer is responsible for supporting all aspects of customer qualification, responding to customer queries, and visiting customers to follow up on progress. Key activities include:

  • Qualifying a customer: Collaborating with the field team to obtain field acceptance on customer sites.
  • Sales support: Providing answers to customer questions and visiting customers to advance opportunities through discussions and presentations.
  • Developing information sources: Building contacts at customers, suppliers, and analysts for market or competitor intelligence.
  • Product development: Suggesting potential upgrades and identifying product weaknesses based on customer needs.

Key Responsibilities:

The engineer will primarily support CVD and PVD products, gradually involving more with the Etch side. Responsibilities include delivering solutions to customer issues in collaboration with BU groups in the division, and providing training materials. The role involves extensive travel mainly within Europe, potentially exceeding 50%, with occasional weekend work and international travel.

Skills and Experience:

Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes, including plasma CVD, PVD, or Etch, and semiconductor packaging. Experience in wafer processing at equipment vendors or wafer fabs is advantageous.

Qualifications:

Degree in a relevant technology field.
