Photonics BW e.V. seeks a Field Application Engineer (Optical and high speed Digital) to support the sales team across Europe.

You will explain and demonstrate solutions to customers in pre-sales discussions, evaluate requirements and provide trainings to account managers and partners. Based in one of the covered countries (Italy, France, Spain or CIS), you will travel up to 50% to customer sites, conferences and trainings.

Qualifications

• Experience using high-speed optical/digital test equipment.
• Familiarity with BER testers, OTDRs and oscilloscopes.
• Strong knowledge of signal integrity in high-speed links.
• Excellent problem-solving and customer-facing skills.
• Fluent in English; willingness to travel up to 50%.

Responsabilités

Field Application Engineer (Optical and high speed Digital)

Top notch pre-sales and post-sales technical support in optical and high speed digital Test & Measurement business!

Our FAEs are technical super stars; domain specialists who support the sales organization and play a crucial role in defining, explaining and demonstrating our solutions to customers in pre-sales discussions, executing technical evaluation of client´s requirements and providing technical information and trainings to account managers, customers and our distributor partners. They solve issues and respond to queries at the customer site or remotely, enable customer´s engineers to understand how the products work and to see how to configure and use them. The FAEs help, train and build true and lasting relationships with customers while collecting valuable market/product development information and extending their own commercial insight for the sake of excellence. Our FAEs also occasionally speak and present at conferences and exhibitions within their domain of expertise, write articles and white papers, contribute to creation of marketing materials. Travel time is estimated around 50%.

At the moment our team of 20 Field Application Engineers & Experts, supporting the Sales organization and covering Europe, Middle East & Africa Countries, is looking for a colleague to cover Italy, France, Spain and CIS countries; occasionally rest of EMEA region when needed. You will be based in one of the countries in your area of coverage, however you need to be able and also willing to travel frequently, with occasional travel to Japan, for customers visits, trainings and team meetings. To join us in this key role you will need to possess these essentials:

• Use of R&D test equipment such as Bit Error Rate Testers and Oscilloscopes
• Use of network performance analyzers, such as Transport Testers, OTDRs
• Technical qualified, college level or higher
• Ability to utilize Information Technology Hardware and Software Tools
• Fluency in English language
• Self-motivating, task/goal oriented, team player, ability to inter-work with other teams
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of your time

Nice to haves:

• Solid knowledge of High speed electrical / optical signal integrity analysis
• Solid knowledge of High speed Serial bus technology, USB, PCI express, Thunderbolt
• Electrical and optical oscilloscope expertise
• 100 / 400 Gigabit Ethernet Transmission R&D
