Job summary

IMI Norgren in France is seeking a Field Application Engineer to translate customer requirements into practical automation solutions. You will work closely with sales and engineering teams, providing technical guidance and supporting long-term customer success in a dynamic industrial environment.

Location: France, Paris/Collégien with the option to work remotely. Travel 1-2 days per week within France to support customers and activities, with most days spent at Paris/Collégien offices.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related field.
• Experience in application engineering or a customer-facing role in pneumatics.
• Proficient with CAD software (AutoCAD or Inventor).

Responsibilities

• Understand customer requirements and develop tailored technical solutions.
• Select products, configure systems, and prepare proposals.
• Create CAD drawings, BOMs, and technical specifications.
• Support customer meetings with expert technical advice.

ROLE OVERVIEW

As a Field Application Engineer, you will help customers solve technical challenges by developing practical application and automation solutions. Working closely with customers, sales teams, and engineering colleagues, you will translate requirements into effective solutions, provide technical guidance, and support long-term customer success. This role combines hands‑on engineering expertise with regular customer interaction in a dynamic industrial environment.

Location: France, Paris/Collégien and remote.

Travel: Regular travel within France to support customers and business activities. Expect 1-2 days a week of travel. Most of the other days you will spend at our offices in Paris/Collégien.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Understand customer requirements and develop tailored technical solutions.
• Select products, configure systems, and prepare technical proposals and documentation.
• Create CAD drawings, bills of materials, and technical specifications.
• Support customer meetings and provide expert technical advice.
• Partner with Sales and Key Account Managers to drive customer success.
• Identify opportunities to expand existing solutions and introduce additional products.
• Assess solution feasibility and support validation activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience in application engineering, technical support, or a similar customer‑facing engineering role within pneumatics.
• Experience using CAD software such as AutoCAD or Inventor.
• Customer‑focused mindset with the ability to work across multiple teams.
• Fluent in English & French
• Willingness to travel within France – including occasional overnights.
