Job summary

IMI is seeking a Field Application Engineer to help customers solve technical challenges by developing practical application and automation solutions. You will translate requirements into effective solutions and provide technical guidance in a dynamic industrial environment.

Travel within France is expected, with 1-2 days per week on the road, and most days at our Paris/Collégien offices. You will collaborate with sales and engineering teams to drive customer success and expand our solution

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience in application engineering, technical support, or a similar customer-facing engineering role within pneumatics.
• Experience using CAD software such as AutoCAD or Inventor.
• Customer-focused mindset with the ability to work across multiple teams.
• Fluent in English & French
• Willingness to travel within France – including occasional overnights.

• Select products, configure systems, and prepare technical proposals and documentation.
• Create CAD drawings, bills of materials, and technical specifications.
• Support customer meetings and provide expert technical advice.
• Partner with Sales and Key Account Managers to drive customer success.
• Identify opportunities to expand existing solutions and introduce additional products.
• Assess solution feasibility and support validation activities.

ROLE OVERVIEW

As a Field Application Engineer, you will help customers solve technical challenges by developing practical application and automation solutions. Working closely with customers, sales teams, and engineering colleagues, you will translate requirements into effective solutions, provide technical guidance, and support long-term customer success. This role combines hands‑on engineering expertise with regular customer interaction in a dynamic industrial environment.

Travel: Regular travel within France to support customers and business activities. Expect 1-2 days a week of travel. Most of the other days you will spend at our offices in Paris/Collégien.
