Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Engineering, Biology, or related discipline.
• 2–3 years of experience in healthcare, biomedical engineering, medical devices or laboratory environments.
• Experience working with laboratory customers and knowledge of the diagnostics market.
• Fluent in French with good command of English.

The Field Application Engineer (FAE) is a field-based expert responsible for delivering exceptional, mainly post-sales support to customers, ensuring their needs are met promptly and effectively.

In this role, the FAE oversees the successful installation, adoption and optimization of Cepheid’s GeneXpert® systems within clinical laboratories across the region. By partnering closely with customers, the FAE maximizes system uptime, drives adoption and enhances the commercial value of GeneXpert systems and assays.

This position reports to the Field Application Engineer Lead, France and is part of the Customer Care Organization, supporting the French territory while working remotely.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Lead end-to-end installation and implementation of GeneXpert systems, including site assessments, connectivity setup, and post-launch support.
• Deliver customer training and ongoing technical guidance to ensure effective use of instruments, software applications, assays, reagents, and connectivity solutions.
• Provide field service and technical support by performing troubleshooting, corrective repairs, preventive maintenance, equipment relocations, and system upgrades.
• Act as the primary customer contact for technical and administrative matters, coordinating with internal teams to resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
• Manage spare parts and field inventory to maintain component availability and ensure uninterrupted customer support operations.

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Diploma and/or Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Engineering, Biology, or related discipline.
• Experience in the diagnostics industry is considered an advantage.
• 2–3 years of experience in healthcare, biomedical engineering, medical devices or laboratory environments.
• Experience working with laboratory customers. Knowledge of the diagnostics market.
• Fluent in French. Good command of English.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

• Ability to travel extensively and spend approximately 80% of working time in the field.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to lift, move or carry equipment weighing up to 27 kg.

L’Ingénieur(e) d’Applications Terrain (Field Application Engineer - FAE) est un expert de terrain chargé de fournir un support exceptionnel aux clients, principalement après-vente, afin de répondre à leurs besoins de manière rapide et efficace.

Dans ce rôle, le/la FAE est responsable du déploiement réussi, de l’adoption et de l’optimisation des systèmes GeneXpert® de Cepheid dans les laboratoires cliniques de la région. En collaborant étroitement avec les clients, le/la FAE maximise la disponibilité des systèmes, favorise leur adoption et renforce la valeur commerciale des systèmes et tests GeneXpert.

Ce poste est rattaché au Responsable Field Application Engineers France et fait partie de l’organisation Customer Care, avec la responsabilité du territoire français tout en travaillant à distance depuis Paris/Ile de France.

Dans ce rôle, vous aurez l’opportunité de :

• Piloter l’installation et la mise en œuvre complètes des systèmes GeneXpert, y compris les évaluations de site, la mise en place de la connectivité et l’accompagnement post-déploiement.
• Assurer la formation des clients et leur fournir un accompagnement technique continu afin de garantir une utilisation optimale des instruments, applications logicielles, tests, réactifs et solutions de connectivité.
• Fournir un support technique sur le terrain en réalisant le diagnostic des pannes, les réparations correctives, la maintenance préventive, les déplacements d’équipements et les mises à jour des systèmes.
• Agir en tant qu’interlocuteur principal des clients pour les questions techniques et administratives, en coordonnant les équipes internes afin de résoudre les problèmes rapidement et efficacement.
• Gérer les pièces détachées et le stock terrain afin de garantir leur disponibilité et d’assurer la continuité du support client.

Les exigences essentielles pour ce poste sont les suivantes :

• Diplôme de niveau Bac+2 à BAC+5 en Génie Biomédical, Ingénierie, Biologie ou dans une discipline connexe.
