We are looking for a Chaos/Kraken Test Engineer

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, defining, executing, and supporting Chaos and Kraken scenarios on distributed systems. They will create best practices for using these tools to automate crash scenario testing and communicate these practices to relevant teams. The engineer will develop procedures and white paper recommendations to be used by testing teams for resilience and service level tests, demonstrating a high degree of autonomy and knowledge transfer skills.

Requirements include experience with managing Chaos/Kraken tools in an OpenShift microservice environment and virtualized platforms.

Main Skills Required:
  • Chaos Experiment Design: Planning and designing experiments that simulate system failures (service outages, network latency, packet loss, etc.)
  • Experiment Execution: Implementing and executing experiments in test or controlled production environments
  • Monitoring and Analysis: Monitoring system behavior during experiments and analyzing results to identify weak points
  • Documentation and Reporting: Documenting findings and providing reports with recommendations for system resilience improvements
  • Automation: Developing scripts and tools to automate chaos experiments
  • Collaboration: Working with testing, development, operations, and security teams to implement improvements based on experiment results
Key Skills:
  • Knowledge of Distributed Systems and potential failure modes
  • Programming and Scripting skills (Python, Go, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Chaos Engineering Tools (Chaos Monkey, Gremlin, Litmus, etc.)
  • Data Analysis capabilities
  • Effective communication skills
  • Problem-solving skills in distributed systems
