Join the leadership team at Novotel Cairns Oasis Resort, an award-winning tropical destination in the heart of Cairns and a proud member of the Accor family. Recently refurbished, our resort offers modern guest rooms, vibrant communal spaces, and Cairns’ only swim-up bar – just minutes from the Esplanade, city centre, and Reef Casino. As Executive Housekeeper, you’ll be at the core of our operation, leading a dedicated housekeeping and laundry team to deliver exceptional standards of cleanliness and comfort throughout the resort. Job Description

As Executive Housekeeper at Novotel Cairns Oasis Resort, you’ll lead the heart of our operation by overseeing our multifaceted housekeeping and laundry teams, ensuring every detail supports an exceptional guest experience. Reporting to the Rooms Division Manager, you’ll drive high standards of cleanliness, comfort, and productivity across the resort.

In this role, you’ll provide strong leadership and focus on delivering results. You’ll guide and develop your team, oversee budgets and operations, work closely with vendors, and continuously improve processes to deliver outstanding cleanliness and service – all while meeting business goals and driving productivity.

What You’ll Be Doing :

  • Lead and manage housekeeping operations to ensure rooms and public areas meet brand and cleanliness standards
  • Build and motivate a high-performing housekeeping team through clear communication, leadership, and training
  • Oversee laundry operations, ensuring timely, high-quality service for linen
  • Support the Rooms Division Manager in driving departmental performance and meeting financial targets
  • Manage inventories, stock control, and departmental budgets with precision
  • Collaborate with vendors to maintain service quality, contract compliance, and cost efficiency
  • Act on guest feedback to consistently enhance guest comfort and overall care
  • Identify and implement process improvements that increase productivity and elevate the guest experience

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For

  • Demonstrated expertise in the hotel industry, with a proven emphasis on leadership and driving operational excellence
  • Exceptional skills in coaching, mentoring, and developing high-performing, motivated teams
  • Consistent track record of effectively managing rosters, controlling costs, and exceeding budget and performance targets
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook; hands-on experience with Opera Cloud and HubOS highly advantageous
  • Culturally sensitive and adept at fostering collaboration across diverse teams to achieve shared goals
  • Highly flexible and committed to supporting a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays
