General Description:
The Executive Director, Head of European Government Affairs & Public Policy, will lead the development and execution of government affairs and public policy strategies across Europe, including the EU and non-EU countries. This role requires collaboration with internal teams such as the General Manager of Europe, country managers, market access, corporate communications, regulatory affairs, patient advocacy, and legal teams to drive policy outcomes that promote access to medicines, influence regulatory frameworks, and protect intellectual property.
The role also involves working with the Swiss government and engaging with key external stakeholders like EU policymakers, national governments, trade associations (e.g., EUCOPE, Swiss Biotech Association), and policy influencers in both EU and non-EU regions. The Executive Director will coordinate with the Head of U.S. Government Affairs & Public Policy to ensure a cohesive global strategy and will be part of the General Manager’s leadership team, guiding regional and global public policy initiatives. The position includes a dotted reporting line to the General Manager of Europe to ensure regional alignment.
Strategic Leadership & Collaboration:
Education and Experience:
Advanced degree in Political Science, Law, Public Policy, Public Health, or a related field.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This role involves managerial responsibilities, budget management, and cross-functional leadership.
Computer Skills: Proficiency with MS Office, SharePoint, and project management tools like Smartsheet. Ability to learn new applications.

Travel: Up to 25%
