Job Description:

Are you interested in playing a role in aviation safety incident investigation?

Airbus Helicopters, as an approved Aviation Design Organization, is committed to ensuring the continued airworthiness of all its helicopters in active flight service. This involves analyzing all reported occurrences related to failures, malfunctions, defects, or other incidents. The goal is to address effects on flight safety through appropriate protective and corrective measures to ensure safe operation or quick restoration.

The 'Continued Airworthiness' department manages these activities across all military and civil helicopters of Airbus Helicopters.

As a Continued Airworthiness Engineer, you will gain insight into various topics across electrical systems, avionics, autopilot, fly-by-wire, and more, across all platforms that impact airworthiness. You will be responsible for the final technical decisions supported by experts from relevant disciplines. The department offers opportunities to transition into other ATA chapters in the future. Your main responsibility will be to coordinate all involved parties to define and implement timely measures, which may need harmonization with authorities like EASA, DGA, etc., considering customer practicality. You will play a key role in aviation safety within a collaborative organization and be part of a dedicated team onboarding personnel from design, quality, and customer support.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Pre-analyzing and assessing incidents for their impact on airworthiness.
  • Attending the Incident Screening Committee (ISC).
  • Assessing fleet hazards with Safety & Reliability and design departments.
  • Reporting relevant incidents to Airworthiness Authorities.
  • Coordinating root cause analyses internally and with suppliers.
  • Leading the Major Incident Technical Board (MITB).
  • Defining protective and corrective measures in collaboration with various departments.
  • Harmonizing safety topics with authorities.
  • Maintaining and updating MITB data.
  • Following up on action items and measures.
  • Preparing internal and external presentation documents.
  • Serving as the contact point for airworthiness authorities on continued airworthiness.

Your profile:

  • Degree in Aerospace Engineering or related, with knowledge of avionics, electrical, or vehicle systems preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in design offices working with avionics/electrical systems.
  • Ability to work across departments and platforms.
  • Strong comprehension, communication, coordination, and relational skills.
  • Capable of managing multiple incidents simultaneously.
  • Autonomous, precise, reliable, and solution-oriented.
  • Proactive with a focus on improvements.
  • Fluent in French and English (spoken and written).
  • Eligible for security clearance.
