DNV, the independent expert in assurance and risk management, is seeking an ESG / HSE Consultant within our Supply Chain and Product Assurance (SCPA) French unit.

Do you want to give operational meaning to your skills in sustainability and occupational health and safety and move into a consulting discipline?

The SCPA team helps clients integrate sustainability and health & safety culture into their core business strategy, enterprise risk management, operations, and supply chains, acting as a trusted third party delivering a full suite of risk management and advisory services.

As an ESG / HSE Consultant, you will help our clients improve safety and environmental performance, ensure sustainable development, and enhance financial performance. Your responsibilities will include social audits, HSE audits, risk assessments, safe job analysis, incident management, and training client personnel.

You will have the opportunity to work on diverse projects across various domains. Expertise is required in at least two (preferably more) of the following areas: risk analysis, social audit, occupational health and safety training, diagnosis, process safety management, and sustainability strategy development and implementation.

The ideal candidate combines technical expertise and advanced risk assessment skills with management consulting capabilities. You will collaborate with a cross-disciplinary team of engineers and regulatory experts to deliver value-added services to our clients.

The role requires significant field experience at production and administrative sites and a willingness to travel.

Our team:

Reporting to the Head of the French unit, you will be based in France, primarily working in France and Western Europe. You will work in an international environment on diverse projects and clients, shaping and supporting global programs.

As part of our ESG / HSE team, you will assist clients facing ESG / HSE challenges, acting as a trusted advisor to help them make strategic decisions that are equitable, transparent, and profitable.

Key accountabilities:

You will contribute to our health & safety risk management services, including:

  • Supporting sales and delivery efforts across all services
  • Delivering on revenue targets
  • Supporting project teams to meet client expectations, goals, and deadlines while maintaining DNV quality standards
  • Engaging with clients to understand their needs and recommend appropriate solutions leveraging DNV’s capabilities

Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding and operational experience in EHS issues within process industries, chemical or pharmaceutical sectors, or construction/civil engineering
  • 5-10 years of relevant consulting experience
  • Proven track record in sustainability consulting, especially in social/human rights areas; social audit qualification (SEDEX RBA) is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations in France and Europe (e.g., ATEX, Reach, Seveso)
  • Experience in facilitating workshops and training EHS teams and management
  • Fluent in French and English (spoken and written); additional languages are a plus
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Knowledge of ISO standards or equivalent
  • Auditing and project management experience is essential
  • Willingness to travel and work onsite at client locations
  • University degree (Master’s or equivalent)
