Job Description

The role sits within Global Business Assurance and is part of the Global ESG Technical Function. This team leads the innovation, development, and maintenance of key resources within the Global ESG initiative to support the adoption of climate and ESG-related products and services, following best practices for certification bodies.

The Global Technical Team is a core part of the Global ESG Business at SGS. It is responsible for developing and maintaining ESG products and guidance, acting as the “product owner” for key procedures and processes, and coordinating across affiliates and regional teams to ensure successful integration and implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

As part of the ESG Assurance development team, you will engage in various projects related to ESG services development, including product development, updates, reference points, sales support, training (internal and external), and project review and execution.

Specifically, you will:

  • Support content development for ESG and Non-Financial Reporting services (Assurance and Advisory), and assist SGS affiliates in understanding and promoting these services.
  • Engage with leadership at affiliate level to support growth strategies and capacity development.
  • Act as “product owner” for reporting standards, products, procedures, and processes.
  • Develop and deliver training to internal colleagues to enable service delivery and sales.
  • Participate in project delivery, coaching, and team leadership to foster self-sufficiency at affiliate level, including technical reviews and acting as an external ESG services champion.
  • Collaborate with global and affiliate marketing and sales teams, research new market opportunities, support sales efforts, and assist with proposals and presentations.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant university degree; post-graduate technical qualification is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience with technical leadership and advanced skills in ESG standards and frameworks, quality management, and compliance.
  • Experience with ESG standards such as ISO 17029, 14065, 14066, 14064-3, 14019 (drafts), ISAE3000, ISSA5000, AA1000AP/AS/SES, and related standards.
  • Knowledge of global standards like GRI, TCFD, IFRS S1/S2, CSRD, EcoVadis, and others.
  • Experience working in an international environment.
  • Results-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks across diverse cultures and environments.
  • Ability to work independently in a virtual setting.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and communication skills in English.
