Job Schedule: Full time

Weekly Hours: 32.00

Salary Range: $15.00 - $17.00

Responsibilities
  • Environmental Services Technician is responsible for maintaining a safe and sanitary environment in patient rooms and assigned areas for patients, visitors and associates by following infection control, safety, and procedural guidelines.
  • Perform tasks such as emptying waste baskets, sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, or polishing floors and using brooms, mops, or powered scrubbing and waxing machines.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of housekeeping processes, tools and techniques in a healthcare environment to provide a clean and sterile environment for patients and facility staff.
  • Clean patient rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms and other work areas to meet health standards.
  • Wear the proper protective equipment following applicable guidelines. Keep storage, equipment and carts stocked, clean and tidy.
  • Access pagers and other technology as needed and use appropriately. Assist in the laundry areas as appropriate. May have access to technology applications depending on location and program availability.
  • Physical activities include substantial use of arms and legs and whole-body movement (climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, twisting, squatting, handling materials). Ability to lift/move up to 40-50 lbs and push/pull varying weights on flat surfaces or ramps. Stand for most of shift. May be exposed to noise from equipment.
  • Work hours vary by location and patient needs and may include overtime, call, backup call, nights, days, weekends and holidays.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience.
  • Ability to use computer; prior cleaning experience is helpful. Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment and methods is helpful.
  • Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.
