Overview

Environmental Senior Project Manager & Business Development Lead

Merjent, Inc. (Merjent) invites applications for an Environmental Senior Project Manager and Business Development Lead with demonstrated success in the environmental permitting process. The successful candidate will join our existing consulting division and focus on western expansion, including expanding Merjent's presence in the western U.S. Technical knowledge of federal, state, and local permitting regulations is required. This is a remote work position; however, candidates must be based in the western US, with preference given to candidates located in Colorado and Arizona.

This is a full-time, benefits-eligible opportunity with an anticipated annual salary between $141,000 and $178,000, dependent on qualifications and experience. This position is bonus eligible.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the Project Manager or Deputy Project Manager for projects in the western U.S., which may vary in size and complexity.
  • Effectively manage project budget, schedule, and project risk through standard project management processes and tools.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and bring new opportunities to Merjent.
  • Actively participate in the proposal process and development of western expansion efforts, including marketing and business development activities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a natural resource/environmental field required.
  • Experience with a variety of natural resources and permitting, including wetlands, streams, state and federal listed species, restoration and mitigation planning and design, Clean Water Act permitting, floodplain permitting, Environmental Policy Act documentation, Endangered Species Act coordination and review, and other related areas.
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience managing projects in the western U.S.
  • Existing client relationships and opportunities.
  • Excellent oral communication and technical writing skills.
  • Strong self-starter tendencies and excellent organizational/task management skills.
