European Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Leader

Based in Rueil Malmaison, Western Paris

Join a leading global manufacturing group as Regional EHS Leader, driving a ZERO-accident culture across our European operations. Reporting to the Regional Operations Director, you’ll lead the implementation of the group's Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) strategy in line with EU-OSHA frameworks and national legislation.

You’ll collaborate closely with plant leadership and the Global VP of EHS to embed a high-performing safety culture and ensure compliance across all operations.

Expert knowledge of:

  1. EU-OSHA Strategic Framework 2021–2027
  2. Relevant EU Directives, Standards, and Guidelines
  3. National OSH strategies and legislation
  4. Credentialing frameworks such as EurOSHM / EurOSHT
  5. Proven track record in managing HSE in manufacturing or industrial environments
  6. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  7. A methodical, autonomous mindset with sharp attention to detail for documentation and compliance
  8. Clear communicator with a proactive, hands-on approach — willing to roll up your sleeves and drive real results

Job summary

Reporting to the Regional Operations’ Director, the Regional Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Leader is responsible for the implementation of the group's approach to Health, Safety, Environment for the European Operations.

You will develop a high performing Health & Safety organization focused on a ZERO accident and full Health & Safety culture within the regional Plants, working hand in hand with the Global Vice President of Environmental, Occupational Health & Safety.

You will assist the Regional OPS team in identifying impacts of business changes to EHS, identification of successful business tools and applications, tracking and measuring success to promote value added services to the organization.

Working conditions

The role is based at the European HQ in Rueil Malmaison. (majority office based work)

The incumbent will be required to travel on a regular basis, mostly within other European Plants. (on average this will be 2 / 3 days every few weeks, equating to 25-30% of your time)

Main tasks and responsibilities

Health & Safety / Environment programs:

  1. Support efforts to continuously improve Health & Safety results with the goal of achieving ZERO accidents and promoting a strong Safety Culture.
  2. Assist in the application of current tools and the implementation of new ones to enhance Health & Safety practices.
  3. Aid site management in executing Environmental, Health & Safety priorities, metrics, goals, and requirements.
  4. Provide technical guidance and support to ensure compliance with EHS regulatory requirements.
  5. Keep management informed of EHS progress and significant developments on key site projects.
  6. Work with Corp EHS to ensure all environmental compliance obligations are met [recordkeeping, samples, permits and reports].
  7. Work with Corp EHS to ensure all projects undergo our Project Environmental Safety & Health Reviews [PESHR].
  8. Work with Corp EHS to ensure all Loss Prevention Recommendations from Global Risk Consultants [GRC] have been reviewed and actions assigned.
  9. Work with Corp EHS on all Industrial Hygiene (IH) related projects [air, noise, ergonomic, etc.].
  10. Work with Corp EHS to ensure full integration of our Contractor Management Program with ISN across all European Operations.
  11. Assist in evaluating facility EHS conditions, identifying risks, and developing corrective-action plans.
  12. Assist with investigations and responses to incidents and government requests.
  13. Support training programs to enhance EHS technical and leadership skills.
  14. Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures in all job duties.
  15. Support environmental compliance and audit / control activities.
  16. Contribute to Sustainability Program initiatives, including EHS KPIs and Zero Net Waste initiatives.

Health, Safety & Environment, Corporate Initiatives – Policies:

  1. Collaborate closely with the Global Vice President of Environmental, Occupational Health & Safety to implement group safety programs within the region and assist with key improvement initiatives.
  2. Analyze and communicate site EHS performance, providing feedback and tracking actions to improve performance.
  3. Support Plants and business leaders in driving Health & Safety and Environment improvements through established standards and processes.
  4. Assist regional leadership in driving local Health & Safety, Environment, programs across all business functions.

Minimum job specifications and requirements

Education:

Higher education degree in Safety / Operations, Engineering, Manufacturing related.

Experience in a structured problem solving and continuous improvement mindset workplace. Right methodology on Safety risks assessments.

Experience:

3 to 5 years’ experience minimum in EH&S.

Language:

Fluent English is a prerequisite; any other language is a plus.

EU-OSHA:

Working knowledge of the European Agency For Safety and Health at work, Strategic Framework 2021-2027, EU Directives, EU Guidelines, EU Standards, National Legislation and OSH Strategies.

Credentialing:

Knowledge of EurOSHM and Eur OSHT [credentialing for OSH Managers and OSH Technicians].

Autonomous and methodical and rigorous (data base and verification of documents need accuracy & method).

Self-disciplined, proactive, able to propose.

Easy communication with external parts and new external parts, positive attitude.

Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Must be highly organized and demonstrate excellent judgment, decision and discretion abilities.

Roll your sleeves up and get things done, proactively and reactively.
