European Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Leader

Based in Rueil Malmaison, Western Paris

Join a leading global manufacturing group as Regional EHS Leader, driving a ZERO-accident culture across our European operations. Reporting to the Regional Operations Director, you’ll lead the implementation of the group's Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) strategy in line with EU-OSHA frameworks and national legislation.

You’ll collaborate closely with plant leadership and the Global VP of EHS to embed a high-performing safety culture and ensure compliance across all operations.

Expertise required:
  • EU-OSHA Strategic Framework 2021–2027
  • Relevant EU Directives, Standards, and Guidelines
  • National OSH strategies and legislation
  • Credentialing frameworks such as EurOSHM / EurOSHT
  • Proven experience in managing HSE in manufacturing or industrial environments
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Methodical, autonomous, with attention to detail for documentation and compliance
  • Effective communication skills and proactive, hands-on approach

Job summary:

Reporting to the Regional Operations Director, you will be responsible for implementing the group's approach to Health, Safety, and Environment in European operations. You will develop a high-performing EHS organization focused on ZERO accidents and fostering a safety culture within regional plants, working closely with the Global VP of EHS.

You will support the Regional Ops team in identifying impacts of business changes on EHS, tracking success, and promoting value-added services.

Working conditions:

The role is based at the European HQ in Rueil Malmaison, primarily office-based. Regular travel within Europe (about 2-3 days every few weeks, 25-30%) is required.

Main tasks and responsibilities:
  • Support continuous improvement of Health & Safety results towards ZERO accidents
  • Implement and enhance safety tools and practices
  • Assist site management with environmental, health, and safety priorities and compliance
  • Provide technical guidance on EHS regulations
  • Communicate progress and key developments to management
  • Ensure environmental compliance, including recordkeeping, permits, and reports
  • Participate in project safety reviews and risk assessments
  • Manage contractor safety programs and incident investigations
  • Support training and environmental audits
  • Contribute to sustainability initiatives and KPIs
Minimum requirements:
  • Higher education in Safety, Engineering, or related fields
  • 3-5 years’ experience in EH&S
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus
  • Knowledge of EU-OSHA frameworks, directives, and standards
  • Credentialing knowledge (EurOSHM/EurOSHT)
  • Organized, proactive, and detail-oriented
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Eligible to work in the EU
