Job summary

Garver, a leading engineering firm, is seeking an entry-level Roadway Project Engineer to join the Transportation Team in Franklin, TN. You will assist in designing and drafting construction documents for diverse transportation projects, while gaining exposure to marketing and procurement activities.

The role emphasizes mentorship of junior staff, collaboration across disciplines, and developing a broad understanding of roadways, drainage, and traffic initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• Registered Engineer in Training (EIT) or Engineer Intern (EI) or the ability to become a EIT or EI within 1 year of employment
• Strong communication skills
• Strong working knowledge of MS Office

Responsibilities

• Assist in design and creation of construction documents for transportation projects.
• Work on typical sections, geometric layouts, drainage and hydraulic analysis, erosion control plans, safety features, and maintenance of traffic plans.
• Prepare construction documents including drafting, quantity computations, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Train younger engineers.
• Manage task assignments for younger engineers and technicians.
• Participate in project procurement by supporting marketing efforts and mentoring new staff.
