The Role

As our founding engineer, you’ll work directly with the founder to turn vision into reality. This is a high-impact, high-ownership role where you’ll build Travelwise from the ground up—designing scalable architecture, shipping beautiful user experiences, and making key technical decisions that set us up for long-term success.

• Architect, build, and launch core features across the full stack
• Define the technical roadmap and make key decisions on infrastructure, scalability, and security
• Own the entire development lifecycle—from idea to production
• Work closely with design and product to craft a seamless, premium user experience
• Lay the foundation for a high-performing engineering team

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of experience as a full-stack or backend engineer
• Proven ability to ship fast without sacrificing quality
• Strong expertise in modern web frameworks, cloud infrastructure (AWS), and databases
• Experience with scaling products from early-stage to high growth
• A bias for action —you thrive in fast-moving, ambiguous environments
