Engineering Supervisor

Responsibilities

1. Repair and carry out preventive maintenance of electrical, mechanical, rotary and static equipment, piping works, hydraulic, pneumatic, air-conditioning and refrigeration equipment, audio, visual and lighting, and all property repairs through involvement and delegation to subordinates.
2. Repair and maintain all mechanical equipment, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, boilers, calorifiers, fresh air supply and exhaust fans, rubbish bins, trolleys, wheels, all mechanical fittings, sprinkler, hose reel, and wet riser systems.
3. Install or repair meters, starters, switchgears, fittings, wiring, vacuum machines, cables, and all electrical, gas, and fuel-operated machinery throughout the hotel.
4. Inspect and replace all fused lamps inside and outside the hotel, including grounds, gardens, and swimming pool lighting.
5. Report and maintain television sets, antennae, signal boosters, and amplifiers.
6. Operate and maintain sound and slide projectors, spotlights, tape recorders, DVD/VCD/CD players, amplifiers, and microphones in good working order.
7. Responsible for replacing all fuses and bulbs, and for the safe custody of lighting and sound equipment in designated areas.
8. Coordinate and liaise with operations regarding the operation of lighting, sound, and visual equipment.
9. Observe and report any equipment, switchgears, or wiring issues, and rectify them.
10. Observe, report, and repair any unusual signs, sound pressure, temperature, or equipment malfunctions that could lead to failure.
11. Conduct weekly test runs of generator sets, and check battery water levels, engine oil, and indicators.
12. Maintain daily log sheets recording temperatures and pressures of electrical, air-conditioning, water supply, and boiler systems.
13. Check stock levels of engineering materials.
14. Submit monthly reports on completed and outstanding works.
15. Supervise and ensure proper enforcement of meal and break periods for maintenance personnel during operational hours, in accordance with hotel regulations.
16. Attend weekly maintenance meetings with the Director of Engineering, Assistant Chief Engineer, and other senior members.
17. Perform shift/split shift duties or other duties as required, including during staff absences or emergencies.
18. Coordinate and report to Maintenance Officers on job assignments and movements for quick location in emergencies.
19. Participate in safety and fire operation drills as required.
20. Assist in keeping workshop areas, plant rooms, and equipment rooms clean at all times.
21. Respond promptly and positively to guest requests, even if outside the immediate job scope.
22. Participate in annual fire evacuation drills and building inspections conducted by the OSH Committee.
23. Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary graduate in a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in the hospitality industry.
