Overview
Engineering Operations Technician DCEO h/f PARIS. AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) is seeking an Engineering Operations Technician to serve as a technical resource to support Amazon in a mission critical Data Center. The position will help ensure overall availability and reliability in all electrical and mechanical infrastructure within the data center environment. This equipment supports mission-critical servers and must maintain better than 99.999% uptime. The successful candidate will be expected to have the ability to take initiative and provide effective solutions for complex technical problems, with direct impact on resiliency, efficiency and capacity of facilities to support Amazon customers.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain all mechanical, electrical and HVAC equipment within the Data Center/Facility.
- Supervise contractors who perform servicing or preventive maintenance.
- Develop work plans for emergency repair of critical assets.
- Operate under minimal supervision.
- Work on-call and on a rotating schedule as needed.
- Perform basic support concepts such as ticketing systems, root cause analysis, and task prioritization.
- Perform shift duty as required.
- Fully comply with all physical security procedures and policies.
- Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to while performing work.
- Perform rack power installs, rack PDU and rack ATS replacements.
- Verify electrical/cooling capacity before new rack installations.
- Create and close work orders with appropriate data, including labor hours, equipment maintenance, and parts used, in the asset management system.
- Maintain changes in state in Mission Critical infrastructure in support of corrective/preventive maintenance.
- Testing: test quality, performance, safety, and reliability of products, equipment, processes.
- Be a front-line responder for hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting (e.g., AHUs, chillers, cooling towers, chemical treatment systems, pumps, motors, VFDs, building automation systems, etc.).
- Set and maintain the highest standards for safety and actively promote a world-class safety culture.
- Drive continuous improvement through standardization of procedures and policies while delivering performance against metrics.
- Enable the operations organization to deliver 100% up-time on all customer supporting infrastructure.
- Collaborate with internal & external stakeholders to deliver operational excellence for AWS customers.
Qualifications / Competencies
- Ability to solve problems through root-cause elimination and understand the broader context.
- Strong safety awareness and adherence to procedures.
- Aptitude for troubleshooting and solving complex issues.
- Ability to follow system documentation and track issues through a Trouble Ticket system.
- Good judgment and decision-making instincts; ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to take ownership of technical issues.
- Experience using EPMS and BMS to manage building workflows.

- Deliver and maintain 100% up-time for customer supporting infrastructure.
- Ensure preventive maintenance of site-critical facility infrastructure is planned and executed to high standards.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver operational excellence for AWS customers.
