Scaleway is building a brand-new Marketplace platform in Toulouse, leading a small team with growth plans to 5–10 engineers. You will design the system, implement core backend services in Go with SQL, and manage artifacts and APIs. Collaboration with Product and Engineering leadership will shape the technical vision.

The role combines hands-on development with strategic leadership, in a fast-evolving, startup-style environment within a mature European cloud company.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Go and experience with Python.
• Solid experience in SQL and database management.
• Expertise in Linux system administration and internals.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proven track record in building APIs and distributed architectures.
• Deep understanding of microservices and scalability.
• Proficiency with Git and CI/CD workflows.
• Experience in creating and managing artifacts (OS images, containers).

Responsabilités

• Design and develop the Marketplace platform architecture from scratch.
• Implement backend services primarily using Go and SQL.
• Create and manage the lifecycle of artifacts (OS images, containers).
• Develop and maintain robust APIs to power Marketplace features.
• Architect distributed systems focused on high scalability and microservices.
• Collaborate with Core Engineering and Product teams.
• Participate in defining technical specifications and roadmaps.
• Ensure code quality through testing and documentation.
• Recruit, mentor, and lead the Marketplace engineering team.
• Balance hands-on development with strategic engineering.
