Role

We’re looking for an Engineering Lead (TypeScript/Node.js) to join our Engineering & Data team. As an Engineering Lead, you'll combine strong individual technical contributions with team leadership. You'll be responsible for the technical direction of your squad, the growth of your engineers, and the delivery of high-impact projects. This is a hybrid IC/manager role — you'll still write code, but your leverage is through the team.

Lead the technical direction and architecture for your squad's domain

Own the full delivery of complex, cross-team technical initiatives
Build, scale and operate Node.js/TypeScript backend services on AWS/EKS
Define the infrastructure and reliability strategy for your team's systems

Grow engineers through 1:1s, code reviews, mentorship and technical coaching

Profile (MUST have)

7+ years of professional software engineering experience
2+ years of experience leading an engineering team (formal or informal)
Expert-level proficiency in TypeScript /Node.js
Good knowledge of industry best practices (SOLID, KISS, YAGNI, DDD, TDD...)
Proven ability to own and deliver large technical projects with cross-team dependencies
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Track record of growing engineers and building high-performing teams
Ability to balance speed-of-delivery with long-term technical health

Profile (Nice to have)

Advanced PostgreSQL — schema design at scale, performance tuning, migrations
Experience with VueJS or frontend architecture decisions
Experience with AWS infrastructure (EKS, Lambda, RDS/Aurora, SQS/SNS, CloudFront, ALB)
Infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CDK, Helm) at scale
Observability and SRE practices: SLOs, error budgets, on-call management
Experience operating in a hyper-growth or gaming/consumer product company
Platform engineering or developer experience background
