1. The Challenge!

At GTT, Vehicles Engineering, Tenders & Governmental Vehicles, you will contribute to developing various specific vehicles for French and international customers. It is an excellent opportunity to work on the complete product, from chassis to cab, handling electronic architectures old and new. The scope is broad!

Due to the expansion within the team, we are seeking an experienced (Specialist) Wiring Harness 2D engineer to join and reinforce the Electrical and Electronics group.

2. What will you do?

As part of the Electrical and Electronics team, you will:

1. Develop and implement complex electrical wiring harness solutions, including 2D drawings and schematics, and 3D harness design based on your skills.
2. Create, update, and manage technical documentation for products.
3. Ensure design correctness and completeness for wiring harness releases according to Volvo standards.
4. Secure and analyze input data. Ensure timely release.
5. Collaborate with wiring engineers and the core team; eventually lead wiring activities, including planning and technical guidance.
6. Work with plants, buyers, and suppliers to introduce quality, delay, cost, and feature improvements.
7. Support current and new production design projects.
8. Analyze and resolve harness-related issues.
9. Proactively pursue continuous improvement in processes, products, and team organization.

• CATIA V5 EHI
• Kola

Occasional travel to customers and Volvo facilities in France may be required.

3. Who you are?

• Electrical/Mechanical Engineering degree or technical background with at least 8 years of experience in a similar environment.
• Strong experience in automotive 2D electrical wiring and harness design.
• Fluent in French and English (spoken and written).
• Technical curiosity and excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Autonomous, capable of managing multiple projects concurrently.
• French nationality required.
• Willing to work in a reactive and agile team.

Experience with Saber software would be advantageous.

The Tenders & Governmental Vehicles team is an engineering department within GTT Vehicle Engineering in Lyon, comprising around 50 experienced engineers adapting Renault Trucks' civil trucks for military and firefighting applications for ARQUUS and Renault Trucks Special Tenders Business. Our team is characterized by a wide range of competencies covering full vehicle systems and a variety of product adaptations, from small modifications to complete truck projects for demanding applications.
