Cochlear is seeking an engineer to design, develop and test implantable hearing solutions. You will plan your own work to support project plans, develop tests, and document progress in line with company processes.

The role requires collaboration with cross‑functional teams to deliver products on time and to quality standards. The position emphasizes adherence to guidelines and best practices, participating in design reviews, and reporting technical progress to the project manager.

Main missions / main activities

• Design and develop and/or test products or parts of products according to agreed quality and time
• Planning of own work to support project plan
• Develop tests as part of product delivery
• Execute tests and report bugs according to established processes
• Document work in accordance with company’s development processes
• Ensure compliance with applicable Guidelines, Standards and Practices
• Define schedules associated with designing
• Plan and manage design reviews to validate suggested solutions

• Concevoir, développer et/ou tester des produits ou des parties de produits selon la qualité et les délais convenus
• Planification de son propre travail pour soutenir le plan de projet
• Développer des tests dans le cadre de la livraison du produit
• Exécuter des tests et signaler des bugs/déviations selon les processus établis
• Documenter le travail conformément aux processus de développement dans l’entreprise
• Veiller à ce que les lignes directrices, normes et pratiques applicables soient respectées
• Définir des plannings associés à la conception
• Planifier et piloter des revues de conception pour validation des solutions proposées

Hierarchical and cross-functional working relationships

• Share and collaborate with related departments on technical points for which he/she is responsible for
• Report technical progress to project manager
• Report progress and suggested solutions for approval to manager during interviews and design reviews

• Partager et collaborer avec les départements connexes sur les points techniques dont il est responsable
• Reporter l’avancement technique au chef de projet
• Reporter à son responsable lors d’entretiens et de revue de conception sa progression et solutions proposées pour approbation

Accountabilities

1. Ensure quality and maintainability by implementing according to agreed architecture and the company’s development standard / Assurer la qualité et la maintenabilité en mettant en œuvre conformément à l'architecture convenue et aux normes de développement dans l’entreprise.
2. Technical specialist within the project on the chosen technologies/designs as well as deviations/rationalities. / Référent technique au sein de projet sur les technologies / conceptions choisies ainsi que les déviations / rationnels.
3. Design meetings organization and management involving multiple departments / Organisation et pilotage de réunions de conception impliquant de multiples départements.
4. Supporting innovation through patent filing / Supporter l’innovation par le dépôt de brevet.
5. Technical reviewer in own field of engineering / Réviseur technique dans son propre domaine d'ingénierie
