Overview

The Amazon Web Services Professional Services (ProServe) team is seeking an Engagement Manager (Energy Supply Chain Consultant) to lead the solutioning and delivery of complex cloud projects. You will combine industry expertise, consulting skills, and technical understanding with strong project leadership to deliver business value for our customers based on AWS-based solutions. You will bridge business requirements with technical solutions, facilitate discussions across stakeholders, and ensure alignment with customer outcomes. You will apply AWS mechanisms such as Working Backwards and developing PR/FAQs to visualise digitisation and transformation of core processes, collaborating with architecture and technical teams to make informed trade-offs considering performance, scalability, security, speed of delivery, and business impact. You will engage with customers from ideation to delivery and enablement of end-to-end solutions and value realisation, and mentor other consultants to broaden their industry and consulting skills. There will be opportunities to work across energy domains including upstream, downstream and mid-stream oil, renewables and alternative power generation, electricity networks and mobility.

This role focuses on assisting energy customers to transform and digitise their supply chain operations in both capital project and operations phases, impacting capital expenditures P&L and supporting downstream processes. You will help define and develop best-practice supply chain solutions, designing, optimising, and transforming supply chain processes to improve business outcomes and achieve targeted benefits. You will build deep relationships with senior supply chain and IT customers to leverage the AWS cloud to build solutions rapidly and accelerate business value. You will act as a focal point and champion for key AWS supply chain services and offerings including AWS Supply Chain, Supply Chain Command Center (SC3) and Warehouse Automation and Optimisation (WAO).

With a strong business acumen and program/project management experience, you will deepen your technical skills to identify risks that might impact value delivery. You will achieve and maintain relevant AWS certifications and effectively communicate technical concepts to business audiences. As you progress, you will lead increasingly complex transformation projects, shape cross-organisational delivery strategies, and establish best-practice approaches in your domain. You will apply your management and leadership capabilities to develop and execute project plans, proactively identify and manage risks, resolve issues, escalate when appropriate, and drive projects to successful completion while exceeding customer expectations.

We work with customer teams and the AWS Partner Network (APN) to execute enterprise cloud computing initiatives, and deliver focused guidance through global specialty practices covering diverse solutions, technologies and industries.

• Leading supply chain conversations across all energy domains to identify opportunities to transform end-to-end business processes of customers
• Support the business to think about problems in an Amazonian and innovative way to drive business outcomes
• Designing and delivering business transformation programs and projects using digital technology
• Using consulting skills to bridge business requirements with technical solutions, facilitate engineering discussions, and ensure alignment with customer outcomes
• Distilling customer needs into clear business outcomes and translating these into technical requirements
• Building deep strategic relationships with senior business and technical customers as a trusted advisor within the supply chain function
• Building knowledge of AWS services, architectures, and best practices to guide technical decisions and strategic planning
• Leading complex teams of customer, AWS and partner stakeholders
• Mentoring and developing project team members within the supply chain function across the energy domain to improve delivery of complex transformation initiatives
• Partnering with ProServe Sales in identifying future supply chain roadmaps and accelerating customer innovation to increase business value through cloud adoption

Qualifications

• Bachelors/Master’s degree in Business or Engineering (preferably related to Energy Management) or Computer Science
• 10+ years of total professional experience, with at least 4 years in supply chain disciplines delivering business change and transformation
• Proven consulting experience from ideation through business case, project/program design, delivery and value realisation
• Demonstrated ability in energy domains and technical implementation experience
• Ability to manage delivery of projects on time, within budget and cost
• Fluency in French and English
• Understanding of cloud and AWS certifications (Cloud Practitioner)
• Experience in hydrocarbon/electron supply chains and materials supply chains
• Experience in core supply chain infrastructure setup (supply chain strategy) and operations
• Experience managing technical solution implementations with a solid understanding of technology and architecture best practices for effective hand-off
• Knowledge of GEN AI, mathematical optimization and machine learning to support supply chain optimisation
• Experience teaching or mentoring energy systems to other consultants
• Additional European languages are a plus (German, Spanish, Italian)
