Job summary

Liberty Mutual is seeking a Risk Engineer for US Energy to assess conventional power and renewable energy risks through on-site surveys and desk reviews. You will translate complex exposures into clear risk assessments supporting underwriting decisions.

The role requires a strong technical background in risk engineering, power operations, and construction risk, with collaboration across underwriting and claims teams. Travel is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or Engineering degree in a technical discipline.
• Five+ years' experience in relevant process industries with managerial/technical background.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site risk engineering surveys and desktop reviews spanning conventional power and renewable energy risks.
• Evaluate operational plants and construction projects, including large and complex exposures.
• Translate technical findings into clear, actionable risk assessments that drive underwriting decisions.
• Serve as a trusted technical resource for US Underwriters, Claims teams, and insureds.
• Analyze risk quality, pinpoint loss drivers, and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Support claims analysis and identify risk improvement opportunities across the portfolio.
