Job summary

Compass Lexecon in Paris is seeking an Intern to join our Paris team in Spring 2027 for up to 6 months. This opportunity is for candidates with a strong quantitative background to apply energy and carbon market modelling, financial modelling, regulatory analysis, and strategic advisory.

You will be based at Compass Lexecon’s central Paris office, working with consultants across Europe and gaining exposure to diverse regulatory environments and energy systems.

Qualifications

• Currently undertaking or recently completed a Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Financial modelling experience with assets valuation, project finance, or transaction support is a plus.
• Proficiency in MS Office; programming knowledge in Python or R is a plus.
• Fluency in French and English; German is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to economic and financial analysis for energy transition projects.
• Support development and enhancement of market and financial models.
• Conduct market research and regulatory analysis on electricity, gas, and carbon markets.
• Collaborate with international team across Europe and support client deliverables.
• Present insights to senior team members and assist in client presentations
