Job Description:

Mode Search is proud to be partnering with a globally recognised brand to appoint an experienced Employee Relations Manager to support and guide best practices across the EMEA region. This is a key strategic role focused on elevating employee relations from a reactive function to a centralised centre of excellence, promoting fairness, consistency, and risk mitigation across all markets.

Based in Paris, this is a full-time, office-based role reporting to the Senior Director of Global Employee Relations. The successful candidate will collaborate with regional HR teams, legal advisors, and business leadership to drive regional ER initiatives.

The Role

  • Provide expert guidance on all employee relations matters including policy interpretation, performance management, discrimination, harassment, workforce reduction, and internal investigations
  • Review and ensure compliance of employment practices with local legislation across the EMEA region
  • Deliver strategic advice and clear documentation in cases of warnings, grievances, terminations, and workforce restructures
  • Act as a liaison with external legal counsel on complex ER cases, new market entries, and policy implementation
  • Lead and support investigations into employee complaints and ER concerns, ensuring a fair and consistent approach
  • Recommend and implement policies and procedures that reflect local legal requirements and organisational culture
  • Create and manage employee handbooks and workplace regulations for new market entries
  • Oversee policy communication and ensure effective implementation across the region
  • Design and deliver ER training for HR teams and managers on topics such as performance, misconduct, discrimination, and accommodations
  • Leverage data and case metrics to identify ER trends and drive proactive strategies to reduce risk and improve employee engagement
  • Implement and oversee the regional case management system, ensuring accurate reporting, tracking, and resolution
  • Conduct regular audits and analysis of case trends to support strategic planning and compliance

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in HR, employee/labour relations, or employment law, with a strong EMEA focus
  • Deep knowledge of employment law and labour regulations across multiple EMEA countries
  • Proven experience handling complex investigations and advising on sensitive ER issues
  • Strategic thinker with project management skills and the ability to prioritise in a dynamic environment
  • Strong judgement, discretion, and decision-making skills in conflict resolution and risk management
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; able to influence and collaborate across all levels
  • Experience in developing and implementing ER policies and procedures in a multi-country context
  • Fluent in English; additional languages such as French, German, Italian, or Arabic are highly desirable
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management tools
  • Ability to lead training, present findings, and provide trusted guidance to both HR and senior leadership
