Job summary

Dust is hiring a User Researcher to serve as the connective tissue between our users and the teams building for them. This embedded role shapes product decisions, informs GTM positioning, and surfaces insights that help us serve customers like our enterprise clients.

You will be the first dedicated researcher on the team, building the function from the ground up and working closely with product and engineering.

Qualifications

• Strong mixed-methods research skills — know when to use qualitative vs quantitative.
• Experience running and synthesising user interviews at pace with rigour.
• Ability to translate insights into decision-driving narratives for engineers, PMs and founders.
• Track record of research influencing product or business decisions, not just documentation.
• Active use of AI tools to improve research velocity and coverage.

Responsibilities

• Build and own the research function at Dust, defining practice, tooling, cadences and standards.
• Run end-to-end qualitative and quantitative studies and prioritise questions against roadmap.
• Partner with Product and Design to embed research into workflows before decisions are made.
• Support GTM and customer understanding by surfacing patterns from conversations.
• Scale impact with AI and build self-serve research systems for the team.
