We are recruiting an experienced HW/SW Security Solution Architect for a fast-growing international technology company developing next-generation secure semiconductor and post-quantum security solutions.
This is a senior technical, customer-facing position requiring genuine expertise across both hardware architecture and embedded software.
You will own security architecture from chip to cloud, covering Secure Elements, embedded software, PKI, device lifecycle management and post-quantum cryptography.
You will also work directly with customers and Product Management to translate requirements into technically viable architectures, while collaborating closely with HW/SW engineering teams to bring those solutions into production.
Your responsibilities
- Own the security architecture of Secure Element solutions, including embedded software, applications and lifecycle management
- Architect complete solutions from bare-metal software through to cloud applications
- Translate customer and market requirements into HW/SW architecture specifications
- Define security subsystems, roots of trust and cryptographic architectures
- Define product requirements, interfaces, performance targets and integration constraints
- Work closely with silicon, firmware, embedded software and system integration teams
- Develop scalable and reusable architecture concepts across product lines
- Own and contribute to the technical product roadmap
- Evaluate customer RFPs and new opportunities from a technical and security perspective
- Assess feasibility and make pragmatic trade-offs between security, performance and cost
- Work directly with developers and product owners to prioritize and drive the engineering backlog
- Ensure alignment with security standards and certification requirements including FIPS and Common Criteria
- Participate in detailed technical discussions with international customers
Your profile
- Over 10 years of relevant experience in embedded security, secure systems or HW/SW architecture
- Strong background in secure embedded software and its associated security ecosystem
- Proven experience translating system-level requirements into HW/SW architectures
- Deep understanding of hardware security, including secure boot, attestation, key management, isolation and side-channel resistance
- Expert-level C/C++ development experience for bare-metal, RTOS and/or embedded Linux systems
- Experience with Secure Elements and/or JavaCard platforms
- Strong understanding of hardware roots of trust and cryptographic engines
- Strong knowledge of NIST Post-Quantum Cryptography standards
- Deep PKI knowledge, including certificate lifecycle management and device enrollment/provisioning
- End-to-end understanding of key management from cloud infrastructure to chip and in-field device management
- Experience with TCG TPM, FIPS 140-3 and/or Common Criteria is a strong advantage
- Strong customer-facing communication skills and ability to participate in technical pre-sales discussions
- Able to move comfortably between low-level engineering details and product-level architecture
- Fluent English and French
A previous background as a Field Application Engineer within semiconductors, embedded security or cryptography would be particularly attractive.
