Your Title

Electronic Engineer (m/f/d)

Trimble Paris 3D scanning group is looking for an experienced digital electronic system engineer. The successful candidate will become a core member of the research development team. This multidisciplinary team is made up of highly talented electrical, optical, mechanical and Firmware Engineers, working in a “startup” environment that is capable of adapting quickly to emerging technologies and changing market needs in order to deliver cutting-edge, innovative systems.

Responsibilities:

You will be a bright, highly motivated, creative engineer. You will work on the design and development of prototypes for new 3D measurement products based on optical and electronic technologies. Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Designing digital (mainly) electronics (electronic design, consumption analysis, PCB routing (Altium designer), EMC analysis and testing)
  • Developing electronic architecture of instruments with focus on cost, size, and weight reduction while maintaining performance across temperature and environmental conditions
  • Developing, integrating, and testing low-cost, low-consumption, highly integrated optical measuring devices using lasers, optics, digital and analog electronics, motors, embedded cameras, and FPGA-based computing devices (Zynq series 7000, Ultrascale…)
  • Participating in mock-up/demonstrator assembly and testing, including developing test code (Python-based) for data acquisition and analysis
  • Collaborating with mechanics, optics, and firmware specialists to accelerate prototype development
  • Engaging in the entire project cycle from conception to deployment
  • Innovating and proposing new ideas for instrument development
Skills & Experience Required:

You should have a strong interest in commercial technology and product development, with top academic credentials and demonstrated drive. You must possess a high sense of responsibility and autonomy in electronic design, capable of producing innovative solutions for complex problems. A degree in electrical engineering or related field with at least 3 years of industry experience, including market-released product development, is required. Experience with Altium Designer (schematics, PCB design, routing) is mandatory.

Additional skills include:

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills in multidisciplinary environments
  • Proficiency in English, both oral and written
  • Hands-on approach and quick learner of new technologies
  • Specialization in high-end instrument development
  • Focus on instrument cost reduction
  • Willingness to assemble, tune, test, and integrate electronic subsystems
  • Basic knowledge of Linux and proficiency in Python or similar software for testing and data analysis
