Purpose of the Role
We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to contribute to the design and technical review of utility-scale photovoltaic and battery energy storage projects in Europe.
Within our Electrical team, you will work on electrical studies, grid connection and technical project support.
You will also contribute to developing the team’s technical skills and capturing and sharing lessons learned.
Main Responsibilities
Electrical Studies and Design
- Prepare and review electrical studies, calculation notes, single-line diagrams and technical documentation.
- Size cables, calculate voltage drops and electrical losses, and contribute to earthing and protection studies.
- Contribute to the selection and specification of electrical equipment, including transformers, switchgear, cables and protection systems.
- Analyse studies and documentation submitted by contractors and suppliers, identify inconsistencies and propose appropriate solutions.
- Verify compliance with applicable standards, project specifications and grid connection requirements.
Grid Connection and Power System Studies
- Contribute to grid connection studies and the analysis of electrical network behaviour.
- Depending on your experience, carry out or contribute to load flow, short-circuit, reactive power and harmonic studies.
- Use electrical calculation and simulation tools and develop your power system modelling skills with support from experienced colleagues.
Project Support and Energy Storage Integration
- Provide technical support during design, supplier tendering, construction and commissioning.
- Participate in technical discussions with clients, contractors, suppliers and network operators.
- Contribute to the review of electrical interfaces for photovoltaic and energy storage installations, technical specifications and testing documentation.
- Participate in site visits and help identify and resolve technical issues.
Collaboration and Quality
